About Rose James...
Rose James offers familiar, timeless objects reimagined for contemporary living. Made from sustainably sourced European beech wood and hand painted by me in small batches here in the UK, I blend thoughtful production with simplistic design features.
It all started as a creative hobby almost 10 years ago. Like the many makers and crafters I started selling on Etsy earning encouraging customer feedback and consistent 5-star reviews! One of my proudest moments was being discovered by Anthropologie who gave me my first wholesale order - an exciting milestone that gave me the confidence to dream bigger.
Today I'm taking exciting steps to turn Rose James Home & Gifts into my full-time business. By blending familiar, timeless homeware utilities with minimalist design features and a considered colour palette, each piece is designed to use every day and lovely enough to leave on display.
The collection is sourced from a family-run producer in Europe. I hand paint each item individually in small batches using eco-friendly, food safe and toy safe paints. For added durability I then coat in natural varnish, while the exposed wood areas are seasoned with a food-grade mineral oil to help enhance the natural grain, tone and character of the wood.
Choose from 2 distinctive signature colour palettes, from soft Scandi Pastels for a calm, understated feel, to rich Inky Hues for depth, colour and character.
